Case Study: Assurant

The Challenge

Assurant is a Fortune 500 company delivering specialty insurance products and services. They have a strong track record in providing their employees with effective learning and career development.

Assurant asked Sporting Edge to build on these foundations and support them with high performance tools and strategies as they rolled out their own leadership development programme. The aim was to establish a strong core of leadership and management practice that would underpin their ambition to create a performance, coaching, and learning culture in their organisation.

The Solution

Sporting Edge worked alongside HR and talent stakeholders, developing a bespoke blended package designed to underpin Assurant’s strategic direction. This approach saw:

  1. High impact keynote sessions delivered at leadership events focusing on the strategies that elite performers use to deliver great results. These insights were translated into practical applications for the Assurant context during the sessions to move from inspiration to action.
  2. Sporting Edge supported the HR team in integrating inspirational video insights into the courses and learning materials. These video insights added extra impact and also reinforced the key performance messages by using globally respected coaches and thought leaders.
  3. Membership to Sporting Edge’s Performance Zone® for the leadership group to use for their own development and share with their teams. This meant that they could access inspirational insights when they needed them most.
  4. Sporting Edge designed and facilitated a bespoke coaching programme to equip the Assurant team with the skills they needed to undertake and promote coaching and action learning to drive and embed behaviour change.

In addition, the Sporting Edge coaching team were personally available to coach the executive team so they could fully and effectively support the leadership community. This blended learning programme is constantly refreshed with Sporting Edge’s new interview content from around the world.
